Computer Genealogy Group Meeting (CoGG)

Today’s topic is “GenSmarts, Genealogy Software,” presented by Del Ritchhart. GenSmarts, is a genealogy software used to analyze your existing genealogy files and produce research recommendations.
Del got his BS in Education at the University of Colorado. He did his graduate studies in the Navy receiving two Masters degrees. Del retired as Captain from the Navy and finished his employment years with Booz Allen and Lockheed Martin Corporation. He began his family history research in 1994 after being contacted in a promotion for a book on the genealogy of his family name. He has been and still is very active with many of the groups of the San Diego Genealogy Society. He is also a member of regional and national Genealogical Societies. In 2011 he published ”Breathing Life Into My Family Ancestors” about several lines of his family tree.
New Society meeting format: 9:00 am Coffee Social; 9:30 am Society News, Sharing and Case Studies; 10:00 am Break; 10:15 am CoGG Speaker Presentation. Note: The afternoon sessions that have traditionally met on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, known as the Business and Sharing Meetings, have now been integrated with the morning meetings. There will no longer be a monthly afternoon meeting on the 2nd Tuesday.
CoGG programs focus on computer and Internet issues relating to Genealogy. Keep up-to-date with hardware and software advances. Open to all levels of computer/genealogy experience.
