Welcome to NSDCGS!

The North San Diego County Genealogical Society is an incorporated, non-profit organization founded in 1968. Our mission is to encourage study and research in genealogy and local history. To this end, NSDCGS sponsors programs designed to provide information and continuing education on genealogy research topics.

*UPDATE 7/1/2021 – IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM NSDCGS*

At the June NSDCGS board meeting, the board voted to conduct all Society meetings virtually through September 2021, extending what is already in place. We will continue to host the Intermediate Genealogy Class, DNA Interest Group (DIG) Meeting, Program Meeting, DNA Foundations Class, Beginner and Refresher Genealogy Class, Legacy Users Group (LUG) Class, and Out On A Branch Chat Class via the GoToWebinar platform.

Even with the improving health situation, the board decided to continue with the virtual webinar format for all Society meetings through September because we have booked most of our speakers for the rest of 2021 and in all cases, have agreed to use a virtual format. Also, the City of Carlsbad has not yet made available the meeting rooms that we normally use for our in-person meetings. Going forward, we will continue to review our Society meeting plans and will notify you of any changes.

Just like our in-person programming, all regular Society programs, meetings, and classes (with the exception of Out on a Branch, which is members-only) are free and open to the public. In addition, NSDCGS members may access video recordings of past presentations (subject to agreements with the speakers) in the Members Area of our website. Details on these presentations and how to access these webinars are available at https://nsdcgs.org/webinars/.

We will continue to advertise our programming via the newsletter, through email notices, and on our website. We are committed to ensuring everyone interested in attending one of the live webinars is able to do so. If you have trouble accessing these webinars or need additional technical assistance, please contact us via email.

In closing, I would like to thank the board members for all their help and guidance as we emerge from the health crisis.

Tom Cousineau
NSDCGS President
