NSDCGS offers complimentary local Research Assistance and Mentor Program to persons both outside our membership area and to members/supporters looking for research guidance in areas new to them. Our Research Chairperson will consider requests for minor articles of genealogical evidence that may be available in our library or the local community. Items such as obituaries from local newspapers are common requests. While we are unable to guarantee the information requested will be found, we will do our best to assist.
Our scope of services does not include in person, courthouse research for birth, marriage, divorce or death certificates. Please contact the courthouse for these records. However, if you need to search for vital records on a genealogy database, we can provide guidance.
For more information, please contact NSDCGS via email.
Research requests may be directed to:
NSDCGS
Attn: Research Request
P.O. Box 581
Carlsbad, CA 92018-0581
You may also submit your request using our secure form below. Please note if a return response or material is to be mailed, we ask that you include a self addressed stamped return envelope with your initial request or pay for postage using cash, check, money order, or via our secure PayPal link.
The purpose of this program is not to do research for others, but to assist those who might lack a particular piece of evidence. Research requests for specific information will be answered in the order they are received by the Society. Please allow 2 weeks before inquiring about the status of your request.
