Join us for a six-session writing class focusing on creating short biographies of one or more of our ancestors. NSDCGS member, Claire Weidemier McKarns, will facilitate the class which begins on August 16, 2024.
The workshop format for the class will enable class members to bring materials and work on writing their biographies with help available. Assistance will be offered with such questions as, What should I include in this biography? How shall I arrange it, so it’s interesting to read? How can I bring out the uniqueness of this ancestor?
At the end of the six sessions, we’ll enjoy sharing our writing with one another.
Preparation for the class:
Identify the ancestors on whom you have sufficient information to write a short biography, 1 or 2 pages. To get ready for the class, perhaps you will choose to do more research on an ancestor whom you particularly want to get to know, so you have the basis of an interesting life story once the class begins.
Registration is required.
Because this is a popular class and space is limited, registration is required. Please register (or send questions) by emailing Mary Millet by August 1, 2024.
